Michelle's Journey to Help in the fight against Breast Cancer
Will you take a special walk with me? I can promise you that our journey will be like no other - involving commitment, challenge, and compassion.
Later this year I will be participating in a very important and powerful event to help fight in the battle against breast cancer. From October 18 through October 20, I will be walking 60 miles from Santa Barbara to Malibu with over 6,000 other people in the "Avon Breast Cancer 3 Day." In its 8 year existence, this walk has helped raise over $83 million for breast cancer charities.
I am very excited to have made the commitment to join the fight against breast cancer and hopefully make a significant contribution to wiping out this terrible disease. I am participating not only for all the people that have been affected by this disease, but also for myself. As many of you may know I have been fighting another form of cancer, Melanoma (skin cancer). Although this disease is not as talked about, it is still one of the leading causes of death.
Finding out you have cancer makes you realize that there is a lot more to life. I am still fighting this disease, and I want to help others fight it too. With your donations and support I know we can make this a most memorable and lasting journey.
My goal is to raise $3,000 in donations between now and September 1st. To do this, I need 100 of my friends and family to donate $30 for this cause. Would you please consider making a fully tax deductible donation to help me reach my goal?
Thanks to the "Avon Breast Cancer 3Day,” more women will be examined early, giving potential victims a better chance to survive. The Avon Breast Cancer Crusade makes the greatest contribution to improving access to quality breast care for medically underserved women and in advancing breast cancer research in the United States. I hope you'll share in this journey with me in honor of the lives of loved ones lost, to celebrate breast cancer survivors, and to help find a cure for this awful disease.
